I haven’t seen Jonathan Weale for years. he’s a very good painter – currently working as a tiler. He dropped into the think tank despite having a 2 week old baby and contributed about 25 ideas, including:

  • paint a 2 lane, 100m running track on Worthing prom for 2012
  • fill the blank wall adjacent to the Woolworth’s building with an art gallery, possibly like Container City
  • revamp the Lido, which used to be a bandstand, and turn it into a music venue
  • add sculpture to Worthing beach, visible when the tide is in or out
  • convert a seafront shelter into a seawater fishtank
  • paint the railings at the gateway to Worthing around Teville Gate blue
  • create a festival at Brooklands
  • turn the Pier nightclub into a small hotel
  • improve Worthing’s signage
A few more cracking ideas to add to those generated today. I’ll take everything to the Sunday Social at Mooey’s tomorrow and start making a list of 100 to take forwards.
